*Title: Director of Business and Employment Services* *Exemption Status: *Exempt *Reports to: *Strategic Innovation Officer *Reporting to: *Business Services Representatives, Talent Solutions Consultant *Responsibilities & Duties: * * Coach and manage Business Services Representatives (BSRs) in maintaining contact and gaining appointments with assigned accounts.
Become personally responsible for employer accounts at times there is no representative in a territory, modeling the BSR function * Align the skills of Work One Candidates from Career Advisors with the needs of Employer talent needs provided by BSR’s and institute a collaborative hand off internally and externally with employers.
* Assist with sourcing outreach events, soliciting employer and community support engagement for fundraising and identifying placement needs and capture * Continuously assess, provide feedback, and implement opportunities for improvement between clients and employer needs to support a thriving NWI workforce * Provide functional management of Department of Workforce Development and other contracted partners’ business services staff (Business Services Liaison and Local Veteran’s Employment Representative) in partnership with their formal State and/or regional supervisor * Assist the BSR representatives in establishing, developing and maintaining a portfolio of business relationships with VIP region employers and lead those that cross over multiple territories.
* Work with established list of leads to generate opportunities and develop new leads for the Business Services team.
* Monitor work flow and have a deep understanding of policy, procedures and key performance indicators by service.
* Lead the development of annual and long-term plans to position the Center of Workforce Innovations as a trusted partner and business consultant to region employers * Manage funds available to support employer training opportunities; forecast spending based on contracts in the pipeline and divide by BSR’s in respective territories to achieve performance goals.
* Accompany BSRs on employer calls to observe and model a consultative approach.
Assess skills and techniques and assist in developing action plans for skill improvement, which includes prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, needs analysis, aligning products and positioning value, proposal generation, presentation, and contract execution.
* Conduct regular team meetings and assess any skill gaps while continuously onboarding with internal and statewide resources.

Take advantage of trainings, and become the subject matter expert of required software platforms to track activity for required input of data.
* Use company tools and products to maximize employer recruitment and retention efforts in collaboration with the Marketing, Communications and Outreach team.
* Build a cross functional team that collaborates with one another and other departments, specifically with aligning skills of Work One Clients with job opportunities with employers.
* Operate with a sense of urgency and instill in your team a passion for driving deep relationships with employers, clients and community partners.
* Document activities, employer updates, and contract status, etc.
consistently and accurately * Use computers for various applications, such as database management, scheduling, data analysis, and virtual platforms like MS Teams and Zoom.
* Manage a department budget and develop reports based on spend and performance trends * Lead employer criteria for all types of engagement for each service area for both the BSR’s and Career Advisors based on training, placement and talent development needs for work based learning and gainful employment in high demand occupations.

Travel to all seven counties and other agencies or a government unit is required.
Trips outside the Region and overnight trips for meetings and/or training may be required on an ‘as requested’ basis.
* Must be able to spend periods of time away from home for implementation of special * projects or attending agency-approved training * Must be able to work outside regular 8 AM – 4:30 PM schedule when required * Must be able to tour employers in varied industries (e.
g.
, manufacturing plants, professional offices, construction sites, etc.
