Job Title: Manager Projects Generation Job Code: 104339 Summary * The Manager of Projects Generation is responsible for leading the Project Management efforts of the Major Projects Generation teams.
This position is accountable for all aspects of project life cycle management, including accurate budgeting and forecasting, combined with effective planning and execution.
* The Manager requires proactive leadership to integrate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
This person requires highly developed organizational, leadership, communication and technical skills.
The Manager will staff, plan, direct, control, and be responsible for the project management and control of assigned projects to ensure the desired success criteria is achieved.
* Projects managed by this team typically range from ~$10M to over $500M in total spend.
This team performs large and or complex projects or engineering studies for NIPSCO which includes projects supporting electric generation, electric transmission, environmental remediation, and other scopes of work of larger size or with higher complexity.
Projects are typically first of their kind for NIPSCO and almost always multi-year.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Displays leadership and support to provide a safe work environment for employees and contractors.

Maintains industry, regulatory and economic knowledge in order to ensure alignment of corporate strategies within the current business environment.
Applies, and advances Project Management and Project Controls capability and competence using industry standards (AACE, PMI, Construction Management Industry, etc.
) and best practices application to integrate knowledge areas for optimum project delivery.
Follows OPM principles in the project life cycle including project development, engineering, construction, testing, turnover and technical support.
Manages Project Managers utilizing and enforcing PMI and PMBOK standards and systems.
Manages Construction Managers to drive safety on projects and to ensure seamless integration with the project team and stakeholders.
Defines and administers staffing resources required to effectively manage and control electric generation projects.
Manages staff to help develop project estimates, budgets, preliminary schedules, risk identification, and scope.
Ensures organization and oversight on the management and control of projects.
Coordinates business planning and asset management processes with project development to ensure that utilization of the company's assets are maximized.
Provides strategic guidance and timely information to project teams in order for balanced decision-making in regard to risks and execution.
Provides timely, relevant and quantifiable information to their Directors and Vice Presidents to assist them with balanced decision-making in regards to project management and/or financial opportunities.
Ensures scope planning, requirements management, and scope definition is complete.
Ensures optimum use of WBS and Cost Account management methodology to establish integrated project baseline development, and integrated scope change control methods.
Develops and applies performance metrics to monitor the progress of projects, including the identification and reporting of project performance challenges and risks.
Provides leadership and oversight for life cycle project change control to prevent scope creep or degradation of quality.
Provides leadership and oversight regarding project start up and test plans.
Supports preparation of various reports (i.
e.
, financial, reallocation, reconciliation, forecasting, accruals, updates, etc.
).
Supports the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP).
Required Qualifications for Position Bachelor’s Degree in related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an accredited university or college Minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following: industrial construction projects, project management, project controls, fossil plant operations, labor negotiations or related experience.
Must have the ability to lead and function in multi-discipline teams.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat a plus.

Salary Range: $125,800.
00 - $188,600.
