Summary:
The Regional Distribution Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and logistics for sites assigned in their region.
The position will leverage relationships with key internal and external supply chain partners to implement recommendations to optimize the operations, improve customer service, minimize costs, and increase productivity.
The Regional Manager is expected to inspire and influence others to achieve results, hold the team to performance standards and create SOPs.
Leverage Best Demonstrated Practices to support the operations strategy and to innovate, develop, and implement change to the Hershey Salty Snacks distribution network.
Support and engage in Network strategy plans, alignment with Customer Supply Chain, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Co-Manufacturing.
Collaboration and relationships will be key to success.
Create and own actions related to SOPs, Performance metrics, Efficiency targets, Budget Targets, Financial Reconciliation, and Audit Compliance.
Develop and implement Future Warehouse and Process Capabilities including Logistics Capital Planning.
Drive Continuous Improvement Productivity Initiatives.
25% travel requirement
Responsibilities:
Interface with Plants, Com-manufacturers, Supply Planning, Transportation, and Customer Supply Chain to assure Product is delivered on-time in full to meet Company Revenue.
Develop and implement operations best practice in receiving, handling, storing, picking, and shipping activities across the warehouse network, ensuring quality standards.
Support preparation of Annual Plans, Outlooks and Strategic Plan Development for Distribution (Input to HSY Salty Budget Planning).
Implement and oversee warehousing/fixed budget spend.
Reports risks and opportunities on an ongoing basis.
Oversee metrics and handle escalations.
Standardize and ensure compliance with Hershey Salty Snacks policies and procedures.
Forecast capacity requirements and develop operational plans to execute against commitments.
Conduct data analytics and operations modeling to drive continuous improvement, operations decision making, and company strategic initiatives.
Develop consistent and effective tools for daily, weekly, monthly reporting of warehouse metrics and key performance indicators.
Work with internal business partners in support of customer order optimization and ongoing vendor support initiatives.
Create, implement, and maintain warehouse standard operating procedures and documentation.
Lead warehouse Inventory Management Best Practices, maintain inventory integrity and oversight and ensure SOX compliance.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Warehouse center experience.
Proficient with WMS systems operations and development.
Experience with S4 EWM preferred.
Ability to work self-directed, independently and with a proactive approach.
Strong negotiating, consensus and team building skills; ability to effectively interface across departments – a must.
Strong knowledge of Excel, Power Point, and Power BI preferred.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, identify issues/opportunities, and implement solutions.
Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
Strong process development and continuous improvement skills.
Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving, and collaborative environment.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering preferred.
Minimum 5-8 years in warehousing/logistics with a strong background in distribution center operations.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and build relationships to achieve results.
