Opportunity:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and direction to the Quality department at the Haynes La Porte and LaPorte Custom Metals Processing operations to ensure that products meet customer and third party specification requirements.
Promote and lead the effort to establish, maintain and improve ISO 9001; AS9100 certification and other business required accreditations and/or certifications including, but is not limited to, Nadcap AC7116/4, GE-108, P&W 119-1 and RRP 55000.
Develop and maintain an effective process/quality improvement program.
All activities will be performed following and supporting established corporate policy, procedure and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education: BS in Engineering or related Technological field or 10+ years experience in a Quality Manager role.
Manager of Quality Certification; Lean Manufacturing Principles trainer; Certificated Black Belt preferred.
Experience: BS with two (2) years experience, or 10 years of ISO 9001/AS 9100 and/or equivalent aerospace/automotive, service center or related industrial manufacturing/quality systems experience; Two (2) years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
Areas of Knowledge: AS 9100, ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001; Industrial Equipment, including laser, waterjet, shear; Calibration and Measuring instrumentation; Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC; Aerospace quality standards (Nadcap, Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls Royce, FAI, FMEA and all other applicable); Metallurgy/Metals manufacturing preferred.
Skills: Written and oral communications, organization, advanced computer skills, problem solving, analytical, leadership/management.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Quality Management Representative to ensure Management Responsibility functions are properly fulfilled.
Ensure the continuity, functionality, suitability and effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Implement and support required quality procedures and policies, as well as, specific industry and customer specific quality systems.
Ensure continuing efforts to maintain and improve the Quality System to meet specific customer and ISO requirements.
Maintain the Supplier Certification, Nonconformance, Corrective & Preventative Action, Document control systems and associated databases.
Allocate assigned personnel to maintain effective audit, documentation, inspection, calibration and certification systems.
Ensure that all assigned personnel are properly trained and certified.
Ensure the calibration system is traceable to NIST standards where relevant and meets all ISO and other regulatory requirements.
Promote and communicate Quality & EHS policies within the facilities to ensure compliance with company goals.
Develop and maintain tolerance capabilities on all precision cutting equipment at the Service Center and monitor/report equipment performance to these capabilities.
Participate in customer self release programs and/or customer specific quality verification, as directed.
Monitor all measuring equipment with regards to calibration schedule and performance.
Review findings and/or participate in the inspection of all RMNs; offer corrective/preventative action where applicable.
Regularly review and maintain SOPs to ensure they comply with all applicable internal and external requirements.
Conduct quality related training of facility personnel.
Monitor and document material placed at inspection/hold area; participate in disposition of said material and maintain a log of these activities.
Perform a quarterly review of the log and offer suggestions for preventative action.
