*SUMMARY OF POSITION:* The primary function of the Internship Coach is to serve as a liaison between teacher, business partners and interns.
The internship is intended to expose students to broad aspects of an industry or career cluster area by rotating through a variety of work sites or departments.
In addition to their workplace learning activities, students participate in 1) regularly scheduled meetings with their classroom teacher, or 2) a regularly scheduled seminar with the teacher for the purpose of helping students make the connection between academic learning and their work-related experiences.
Specific instructional standards tied to the career cluster or pathway and learning objectives for the internship must be written to clarify the expectations of all parties – the student, parent, employer, and instructor.
*PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:* * Recruit new community business partners (cold calling) * Visit student internship sites * Place interns into a most suitable business * Maintain and properly store student records * Handle issues that arise with students at internship sites * Guide and coach students when necessary * Assist teacher in planning and conducting internship events * Collect, organize, and properly store all student internship documentation * Responsible for sending out correspondences (holiday cards and invitations) * As CHS representative, must perform in a most professional manner *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:* * Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully and effectively with persons at all levels in order to develop and maintain productive relationships.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
* Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors and district administrators *SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS *_(includes equipment, hours, physical demands)_ *Work Environment:* Typically works in an office setting with a controlled temperature environment.
Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions may occur depending upon assignments.
*Hours:* This position typically will work 29 hours per week or less.
Summer hours will be as needed to secure internship placement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell.
The employee may be required to lift or move up to 35 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $15.
