Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that guests are provided a memorable dining experience.
The Assistant Manager works closely with other Food and Beverage staff to ensure operations, food preparation, service, and other back-of-house and front-of-house needs are run efficiently and meet both financial and quality objectives.
Essential Functions
* Provides oversight of all FOH & BOH activities in accordance with company standards.
* Interacts with guests to ensure a positive experience of every aspect of their visit.
* Ensures all staff always abide by all company SOPs and policies.
* Oversees specific training program for all staff including initial and ongoing training and development.
* Maintains an extensive understanding of all food and beverage offerings within the tasting room.
* Exhibits an expert level of knowledge for both cider and wine produced by the company.
* Develops staff by coaching and disciplining employees in partnership with the Human Resources Department when appropriate.
* Ensuring compliance with all government agency regulations (i.
e.
Department of Health, Alcohol & Tobacco Commission).
* Managing & delegating inventory tracking activities for BOH & FOH.
* Partners with the Special Events Coordinator to manage all tasting room hosted special events.
* Oversees nightly financial reconciliation via company POS system and cash deposits.
* Fosters a positive working environment for all team members.
* Ensure the store is fully staffed with a high caliber team that is able to assist in executing high training standards.
* Provide consistent leadership and dedication to manage and lead the staff during business hours.

Work Environment
The tasting room work environment is often a high stress environment where staff can be exposed to louder than average noise levels.
Physical Demands
This position requires daily activities such as, bending, lifting approximately 50lbs+ occasionally, and standing for extended periods of time (8+ hours).
Required education and experience
* Must be 21 years of age or older.
* Possess a commitment to teamwork, personal integrity, and a strong work ethic.
* Strong operational skills in a customer service environment.
* Knowledge of food and labor cost.
Preferred Experience & Skills
* Serv-Safe certification or equivalent preferred.
* Minimum two years as a manager within a restaurant operations environment.
* Decision-making skills, organizational and conflict resolution skills.
* Must hold or be able to obtain an Indiana alcohol server’s license.
