The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is responsible for fulfilling a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR Department.
These duties include full employee life-cycle assistance and administering HR policies and procedures in accordance with US labor laws.
The HRG is expected to be a conceptual thinker with strong organizational and conflict management skills.
The diversity of responsibilities is vast, involving anything from employee recruitment and onboarding to benefits administration and employee communications.
*JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*
• Schedule and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
• Handle all administrative tasks for new hires including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
• Maintain physical and digital employee files and their related documents
• Collaborate with outside providers (i.
e.
, benefits administrators, search firms, vendors)
• Investigate complaints and grievances brought forward by employees
• Take appropriate disciplinary action when an employee violates Company rules and regulations
• Produce and submit reports on general HR activity
• Assist with the recruitment process conducting reference checks and ensuring relevant preemployment background screens have been completed
• Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
• Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole and to improve the employee experience and morale
• Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
• Serve as HR advisor to employees in relation to absence and health issues, grievance matters, organizational changes and other employee-relations matters
• Oversee payroll processing for the variety of payrolls on the relevant frequencies
• Be responsible for tracking vacation/sick pay and hourly employee time and attendance
• Assist in the communication, interpretation and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts
• Stay up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices

• Superb computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HR software

*EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: *
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related preferred or 2-3 years of experience as an HR coordinator or similar role
• Two to three years’ experience in Human Resources Department preferred
• Proficient with office software
• SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus
• Experience with ERP systems a plus
